The silence in the river was the first thing that he notice, but before he could admire that river in the forest, he saw a Girl standing in the other side, in the moment he look at that girl she was just standing there looking at her own reflection in the river.
“As’t Lanara”
He blinks and suddenly the girl was vanishing like he wasn’t mean to be in that spot in that time. What was the meaning of those worlds, he knew that there are parts of some kind of language called, the “Language of the Trees” or “The Voice of the Gods”.
He was amazed by the image of that girl; he was in such a big shock that he remains still for a couple of minutes. In this moment he remembers the good times of this worlds, a couple of years ago, when he lived with his family in a little house of a country town. He saw the faces of his family and friends and how they were disappearing after the “Raids”. He saw the same girl of the river in his thought and he realizes that is just like someone that was living in that town when he went away.
He hears some distant scream for a while but he takes a long time to listen them.
“That came from the camp”
And suddenly he starts to run, forgetting all that happened in the river, at least for the moment. The camp was like 2 miles away so he can run till reach it. But the forest don’t look the same as before, the shapes of the trees change while he run and he started to feel dizzy and disorientated.
“¡Kyla!”
He doesn’t hear no answer, he keep running all the way back.
“Where are you Kyla?!”
The camp must be after those trees, he thought. He get through the last steps and find that Kyla was sitting there like nothing happened.
“I hear some screams from this direction, What happened?”
She said something he couldn’t understand. He passed out.
...
“The campfire”
He is awake and smell something burning. When he understand what was in the fire he tried to stand with all his might but he fell to his knees. A lot more dizzy he trie to stand several times till he can. Start to walk out of his tend.
“Kyla must put me in hear”
Every time he remembers the smell in the campfire a shiver come down across his spine. When he finally gets to see what is in the campfire all his world crash in his mind.
“It can’t be, how does this happened, it’s impossible”
He recover all his might and run to the campfire and get the book away, he open it to se if something is there yet.
“There’s only a few pages that you could actually read, How does this happened?”
He put the book inside his pocket and start searching for Kyla. Her things were missing and there’s a note in a tree hold by a knife stuck in there.
“That book was going to kill you, but you don’t thrust me so I do the best for both of use.”
His temper is totally upside down, he start to scream to curse all that one a time he knew. And after he can control some part of himself he set almost everything on fire and goes away.
He can walk any longer; his shivers and dizziness make him fall like a mile from his burning camp. A dream is getting into his thoughts and finally he let him in.
In the dream he saw a river, and remember all that happened the day before.
